House Identity Crisis

What house are you in?

A question not uncommon in this fandom.

My answer: I HAVE NO IDEA!

I thought I was in Ravenclaw, but I don't think I'm smart enough.

From age 5-15 I might have belonged in Ravenclaw. I read a lot, got good grades and took school and work seriously. I even found school too easy at times...

But then something changed. I got tired of school and stopped caring. I became lazy. I still got decent grades and therefore didn't bother to put in any extra effort.

When I went to college I took it more seriously than high school, but I know I could have done a lot more, especially during the last year... But I was so sick of school by then. (18 years of school and a subject you hate can do that to you...)

Now, I've suddenly become more interested in the stuff I should have learned at school and wished I paid more attention. So basically I should have worked from age 16 until now and started high school last year ;)

Aaaaanyway... I still don't feel like I belong properly in one house, I have traits from all of the houses (at least 3 of them) but I also have contradictory traits.

I've taken a lot of sorting tests online and I get different results every time. When I took some 2 years ago, they still told me different things, but the majority was still Ravenclaw, so I went with that one. I even knitted a Ravenclaw scarf and hat and I've claimed to be in Ravenclaw to many people, but now I don't really feel sure about it...

Today, I took a bunch of quizzes and I got everything BUT Ravenclaw...

*feels very confused*

Things about me and different houses:

Gryffindor: I don't really see myself here as I'm not that brave... (I can be in some situations and therefore sometimes get Gryffindor on tests)

Slytherin: I do have a lot of Slytherin qualities. I want to be noticed, acknowledged, and I can be very self-centered. I'm very good at finding ways that will make MY situation better ;) but I'm not very cunning (I sometimes wants to be, but can't bring myself to do all the stuff that I have in my head).

Ravenclaw: I used to be a very good schoolgirl, but when I talk to a lot of people I suddenly realise how little I know... I feel pretty stupid compared to a lot of people to be honest (I might blame the school system in this country, because I don't feel that way compared to most people in this country... hmmmm weird)

Hufflepuff: I know Helga Hufflepuff said she'd teach the rest and that "everyone" fits in Hufflepuff. But aren't Hufflepuffs supposed to be hard working? I'm not... If I could find a way to do nothing, I would do that!

The thing is... I'm going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in about a week, and I want to go crazy and buy a lot of things, but I really don't know which house I should buy things from. And I really want to be able to stand up to people and claim to be a proud Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.

Thoughts?

I believe you are a Ravenclaw. Not an extreme one, to be certain, but you don't really have the traits of the other houses. Ravenclaws can be smart enough to be slacker, do what suits them in a non-Slytherin way. And when I went to the Wizarding World, no one gave a damn what house I was in. You'll have a blast. A hint when you go to the Three Broomsticks, try the Pumpkin Juice and Butterbeer, but also order an iced Butterbeer. And get the plastic glass you can take home.

I know they don't care about houses in the park itself, but I have a lot of fandom friends and I finally have the chance to buy some REAL HP stuff ;)

Thanks for the tip :D I'm going to the park during this special LeakyCon event, so we get unlimited access to butterbeer and pumpkin juice :D weeeeeeee ;)
